Learn more about our business and service offerings on this page.

Since 1972, our dedicated team at Quality Electrical Contractors has been offering reliable, high-quality electrical solutions for property owners throughout the region. As a small family business, we work diligently to ensure excellence in everything we do, no matter how large or small a project may be. If you’d like to learn more about our company and service offerings, please read our responses to these common questions.

What electrical services do you offer?

We offer a full range of residential and light commercial electrical solutions, including safety inspections, new installations, and expert repairs. Our core services cover electrical panel upgrades, wiring, outlets, switches, EV charger installations, and comprehensive lighting design for both interiors and landscapes.

What is your service area?

We proudly serve the Greater Greenville area and surrounding communities, including Greer, Mauldin, Simpsonville, Easley, Piedmont, Taylors, Fountain Inn, Travelers Rest, Pickens, Seneca, Salem, Landrum, Six Mile, Marietta, Powdersville, Lyman, Pelzer, Sunset, Anderson, Woodruff, Spartanburg, and Duncan, South Carolina.

Is your business licensed and insured?

Absolutely. We are fully licensed, bonded, and insured in the states of South and North Carolina, and we have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). We want you to rest assured that your property will be in great hands.

What does the motto “Transforming power into life” mean?

This motto exemplifies our commitment to more than just outlets and wires. Our team strongly believes that a safe and efficient electrical system should enhance how you live and work every day, and we’re dedicated to developing tailored, long-lasting solutions for every customer.

Do you offer any warranties or guarantees?

We’re proud to stand behind our craftsmanship and fully guarantee our labor and installation services. The products we offer also have specific manufacturer warranties, which we can tell you about in greater detail during your project.

Why should I choose your business over another electrical contractor?

For over 50 years, customers have chosen us for our friendly customer service, punctuality, and commitment to explaining electrical issues in clear terms. As a family-owned local business, we strive to offer honest, lasting solutions while treating each property with the same respect we’d have for our own home.

When should I consider upgrading my electrical panel?

If your breakers trip frequently, you still have a fuse box, you smell a burning odor, or you’re planning to add a large appliance that might exceed your current service, it’s time to upgrade.

What are some key signs that my home needs professional electrical repair?

Flickering lights, warm or hot outlets, sparks when plugging in devices, and unusual buzzing sounds can all indicate more serious underlying problems. We encourage you to contact us for a thorough inspection right away if you notice any of these problems.

How can you help with my renovation or home addition project?

We specialize in design-build services for remodeling and home addition projects. Our team can help plan the layout, install new wiring, add outlets, add lighting, and verify that your existing electrical system can handle the additional load.

How can I tell if my outlets are properly grounded?

Standard two-prong outlets are typically ungrounded. Three-prong outlets should be grounded, but they can sometimes be installed incorrectly. Our team can perform a safety inspection using a circuit tester to verify that your grounding system is safe and functional.

What is the purpose of whole-house surge protection?

Unlike power strips, which can offer surge protection for individual devices, a whole-house surge protector is installed at your main panel. It protects all your devices and appliances (including fridges, HVAC units, and washers) from external power surges and internal spikes.

What is the difference between Level 1 and Level 2 EV charging?

Level 1 uses a standard 120V outlet and is very slow (adding 3-5 miles per hour). Level 2 requires a dedicated 240V circuit (similar to a dryer outlet) and can fully charge most vehicles overnight, making it the standard for home installations.

Can you perform a safety inspection for a home I’m buying or selling?

Yes, we offer comprehensive electrical inspections to identify any potential issues or code violations that could impact the safety or efficiency of the property’s electrical system. After we complete the inspection, we’ll give you a complete report outlining our findings, recommendations, and key facts to help you make a confident real estate decision.

Where am I required to have GFCI outlets in my home?

According to current electrical codes, Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) outlets are required in any areas that are prone to excess moisture, including kitchens, bathrooms, garages, basements, to prevent electrical shock.
